When installing on a newly purchased computer or reinstalling driver on a old computer, driver installation can be both taxing or easy a breathing fresh air. A computer or laptop has two major components and that is the hardware and the software. Without one of these two the computer or any gadgets is useless. The hardware must work properly with the software to produce a beautiful piece of machine. Of these two the hardware require the most time in getting it to work properly.

The hard way of driver installation is if the CD-ROM that contains the driver for all hardware components is gone. For this method we need an internet connection. Not just an ordinary internet connection because we need to find and download the correct version for each specific computer hardware. Yes each computer hardware has a different version. Not all computer hardware drivers will work once they were installed. So it is very important that we need to know several things about the driver that would make them the correct driver for that specific hardware.

For every driver that we need to install we need to know the current operating system of the computer. Especially in the Windows based computer or laptop. So it is very important to know where that driver’s manufacturer and version so that driver compatibility is maintained at all times. Back in the early days we were able to send our voice thru the air and hear them thru a very remarkable gadget known as the Radio. With the use of the radio, we can now hear song, commentaries, news and some other information that was using the radio at that particular time. We though what could be the next gadgets that would top these two, at first the most influential of them all was develop separately. This gadget was a result of the combination of the two gadgets mention above but also of several other gadgets that we have develop separately and is very useful to us individually. The first of these gadgets was the camera from its early days of black and white picture to using negative to develop the picture to instant picture via the Polaroid camera where we can take the picture and after a few minute here comes the picture no more waiting days, before we could see the result. Then from still camera the moving camera came where with these gadgets we can capture an activity where the gadgets records the whole event not just a single moment of it. Imagine seeing your younger self over and over again playing or doing what you really like back then. The camera was indeed very useful by itself.

The Microsoft Word 2007 Basic Menu Bar

Microsoft Office 2007 is a Windows version of the Microsoft Office System, Microsoft's productivity suite. The Ribbon, a panel that houses a fixed arrangement of command buttons and icons, organizes commands as a set of tabs, each grouping relevant commands. The Ribbon is present in Microsoft Word 2007, Excel 2007, PowerPoint 2007, Access 2007 and some Outlook 2007 windows. The Ribbon is not user customizable in Office 2007. Each application has a different set of tabs which expose the functionality that application offers. For example, while Excel has a tab for the graphing capabilities, Word does not; instead it has tabs to control the formatting of a text document. Within each tab, various related options may be grouped together.

The word firewall is a very term in the world of computing. It is a part of a security of a computer or network but for today’s topic where going to focus a personal computer firewall. First what is a computer firewall, well it could be a software firewall or hardware firewall, wait a minute here this is getting to deep before we go any further let’s see what a firewall in general do or how does it gets to function. Firewall checks information coming from the Internet or a network and then either turns it away or allows it to pass through to your computer, depending on your firewall settings. The firewall has different settings depending on its work areas. For a firewall of a personal computer the general setting is usually determine by the owner which program is allowed or denied access to computer. Allowing a program to communicate through the firewall, sometimes called unblocking, is when you allow a particular program to send information through the firewall. You can also allow a program to communicate through the firewall by opening one or more ports. If you run a program such as an instant messaging program or a multi-player network game that needs to receive information from the Internet or a network, the firewall asks if you want to block or unblock (allow) the connection. If you choose to unblock the connection, Windows Firewall creates an exception so that the firewall won't bother you when that program needs to receive information in the future.

Yes, because router-based firewalls only provide protection from computers on the Internet, not from computers on your home network. For example, if a mobile computer or guest computer connects to some other network, becomes infected with a computer worm, and then connects to your home network; your router-based firewall won't be able to prevent the spread of the worm. However, a firewall running on each computer on your network can help control the spread of worms.

However, running more than one firewall program on your computer at the same time could cause conflicts. It's best to just use one firewall program, in addition to a router-based firewall.

One of the early technology in printing is the impact printers, during the early era of computers in work place, home and school there is the all kinds of impact printers. One of the most recognizable model of the impact technologies for printers is the Dot-Matrix Printers. It is every where, where there is computer there is bound to be one of this kinds of printer. As time and technology for printer evolve and developed new type of printer started to dominate the landscape for printing. The once proud and dominant dot-matrix printer where slowly replace by the more silent and more efficient ink jet and laser printer. But did the dot-matrix completely loss is usefulness in the era of ink jet and laser printer, well the answer is a big NO. 

Even with today's new type of printing where almost all printer is a combination of three machine or the so called all-in-one type, where one can print, scan and photocopy any type of documents, and yes there is the fourth one the printer can also be used as a fax machine. But before we go any deeper, let's do a quick tutorials on what is a dot-matrix printer. 

What is a dot-matrix or impact printer?

A dot matrix printer or impact matrix printer is a type of computer printer with a print head that runs back and forth, or in an up and down motion, on the page and prints by impact, striking an ink-soaked cloth ribbon against the paper, much like the print mechanism on a typewriter. However, unlike a typewriter or daisy wheel printer, letters are drawn out of a dot matrix, and thus, varied fonts and arbitrary graphics can be produced. Because the printing involves mechanical pressure, these printers can create carbon copies and carbonless copies.

Each dot is produced by a tiny metal rod, also called a "wire" or "pin", which is driven forward by the power of a tiny electromagnet or solenoid, either directly or through small levers (pawls). Facing the ribbon and the paper is a small guide plate pierced with holes to serve as guides for the pins. The moving portion of the printer is called the print head, and when running the printer as a generic text device generally prints one line of text at a time. Most dot matrix printers have a single vertical line of dot-making equipment on their print heads; others have a few interleaved rows in order to improve dot density.

Full-size dot-matrix impact printers are still used to print multi-part stationery, for example at bank tellers and auto repair shops, and other applications where use of tractor feed paper is desirable such as data logging and aviation.

Some are even fitted with USB interfaces as standard to aid connection to modern legacy-free computers. Dot matrix printers are also more tolerant of the hot and dirty operating conditions found in many industrial settings. The simplicity and durability of the design allows users who are not "computer literate" to easily perform routine tasks such as changing ribbons and correcting paper jams.

Some companies, such as Printek, DASCOM, WeP Peripherals, Epson, Okidata, Olivetti, Lexmark, and TallyGenicom still produce serial and line printers. Today, a new dot matrix printer actually costs more than most inkjet printers and some entry level laser printers. However, not much should be read into this price difference as the printing costs for inkjet and laser printers are a great deal higher than for dot matrix printers, and the inkjet/laser printer manufacturers effectively use their monopoly over arbitrarily priced printer cartridges to subsidies the initial cost of the printer itself. Dot matrix ribbons are a commodity and are not monopolized by the printer manufacturers themselves.
