HTML5 on Hype: True or Not

HTML 5 is the next version of HTML that is under development and will replace most existing HTML languages on web pages all over the globe. Some technologist think it will bring improvement, other are concerned about the problems that may be caused due toHTML5.the following article explains the hype of HTML5.

HTML5 in precise definition

For web developers, HTML5 is just a modernized programming language and nothing more. Like conventional HTML it is not just software or a program, but it is used for implementation of modern features and designs. The current version is incompatible with today’s world as it was released in 1997 which makes it not up to date and incompatible with features like java, flash and Ajax. The aim of HTML5 is to make implementation of mobile based programming and modern features much easier and in compatible way.

Functionality

Many believe that HTML5 will change the internet and mobile programming for better but some are still confused. .Although the language uses the basic language but increase the functionality features and accessible when used with other applications. The speed and functionality are the two modules on which the developers have focused.

Mobile Devices Utilization

HTML5 is designed to make browsing with mobile easier. The features that it offers are particularly mobile browsing oriented. Mobile users get frustrated by the outcome of the conventional HTML as web pages are not displayed as they are displayed on laptop or desktop. HTML5 is particularly designed to view web pages on mobile easily and accessibly.

Upcoming Internet Changes:

The programmers are highly excited about the change that will occur to the internet world with HTML5. The new language is proclaimed to simplify the programming language and syntax that make more sense with modern programming techniques. Programming can be done faster and additional features can be implemented that is not an easy task with the current HTML. Since the language is still in development phase, it is unknown what type of programming language changes will occur.

-->
Potential downside:

While there are advantages of programming with HTML5, there are few disadvantages as well. One of the biggest disadvantages is that the programmers will have to learn the new language. This is a time consuming and may frustrate the programmers. Further, if the browser isn’t enabled to sight HTML5, it will not display the content of web page. This can affect the compatibility and accessibility of web site. Though many browsers have updated there sources but still coping with the changes take time.

With concluding the advantages and disadvantages of HTML5 it can be said that until its release no final verdict can be given. The official version of language is yet to be released. Until then, programmers should look into the new changes so they can be ready to switch over to the new language when it is officially released.

HTML 5 vs Flash

HTML5 is a markup language for structuring and presenting content for the World Wide Web, and is a core technology of the Internet originally proposed by Opera Software. It is the fifth revision of the HTML standard (created in 1990 and standardized as HTML4 as of 1997) and, as of July 2012, is still under development. Its core aims have been to improve the language with support for the latest multimedia while keeping it easily readable by humans and consistently understood by computers and devices (web browsers, parsers, etc.). HTML5 is intended to subsume not only HTML 4, but XHTML 1 and DOM Level 2 HTML as well.

While Flash manipulates vector and raster graphics to provide animation of text, drawings, and still images. It supports bidirectional streaming of audio and video, and it can capture user input via mouse, keyboard, microphone, and camera. Flash contains an object-oriented language called ActionScript and supports automation via the JavaScript Flash language (JSFL).

Flash content may be displayed on various computer systems and devices, using Adobe Flash Player, which is available free of charge for common web browsers, some mobile phones, and a few other electronic devices (using Flash Lite).

5 Important Factors to Consider Before Hiring a Web Designer

Follow @ryderskull88

It’s not always easy to choose a web designer.  There is a lot for companies to consider and you want the process to run as smoothly as possible.  You can take some of the pressure off the decision by asking the right questions and searching for the right information.  To help you make the right choice for your web design project, consider these five important factors.

1. Experience

Experience is among the best ways to gauge the potential of a web design company.  Web design has a steep learning curve so you always want to ensure a certain level of experience that minimizes the chances of making a mistake or under-delivering on objectives.  Start by checking to see if the web design company has experience building sites similar to yours.

Find out if the company works with raw HTML or prefers to use Joomla, Drupal or some other content management system.  Just think logically when approaching the company about their experience.  If you want to sell projects through your website with credit card transactions, make sure the web design company has experience with eCommerce hosting.  Do some homework and find the company with the right experience.

2. Portfolio

Any quality web design company will have a portfolio.  Ask the web design company for links to websites in their portfolio and review them carefully.  Web designers are versatile in their practice although many portray a similar style throughout their portfolio.  If you like the particular style of the designer, then you are one step closer to making a decision.

3. References

It helps to review a company portfolio, but don’t forget to review references, too.  You are a potential client and the best person to answer your questions about the web design company is a previous client.  Was the client happy with their experience with the company?  Would the client recommend the company for web design services?  You can also find out how much the client paid for the web design services and how long the project took from start to completion.  Also, find out what the client disliked about the company.  If the design company dropped the ball in a particular area of the web design project, chances are it will do the same for you.

4. Price

Before you enter into a deal with a web design company, always ensure that the prices are clearly outlined in writing.  A lot of different factors go into the overall cost of web design services and it is extremely important to put these costs on the table before starting the project.  You can help steer yourself away from trouble by asking the company about their payment management system.  While a professional, business-like response is a good sign, a simple “Don’t worry, we’ll manage” is a red flag.

5. Support

Reputable web design companies offer maintenance services to clients after launch.  Companies without an in-house webmaster should definitely look for a web designer that offers post-launch maintenance.  If the company fails to include maintenance as a part of their services, you might want to keep looking.

The History of Web Design

Follow @ryderskull88

The W3C was created in October 1994, to "lead the World Wide Web to its full potential by developing common protocols that promote its evolution and ensure its interoperability." This discouraged and one company from monopolizing a propriety browser and programming language, which could have altered the effect of the World Wide Web as a whole. The W3C continues to set standards, which can today be seen with JavaScript.

In 1994 Andreessen formed Mosaic Communications corp. That later became known as Netscape Communications the Netscape 0.9 browser. Netscape created its own HTML tags without regards to the traditional standards process. For example Netscape 1.1 included tags for changing background colours and formatting text with tables on web pages. Throughout 1996 to 1999 the browser wars began. The browser wars saw Microsoft and Netscape battle it out for the ultimate browser dominance. During this time there were many new technologies in the field, notably Cascading Style Sheets, JavaScript, and Dynamic HTML. On a whole the browser competition did lead to many positive creations and helped web design evolve at a rapid pace.

Infographics: What are Website Made Off?

What is a website made off? A website, maybe written as Web site, web site, or simply site,  is a set of related web pages containing content (media), including text, video, music, audio, images, etc. A website is hosted on at least one web server, accessible via a network such as the Internet or a private local area network through an Internet address known as a Uniform Resource Locator. All publicly accessible websites collectively constitute the World Wide Web. A webpage is a document, typically written in plain text interspersed with formatting instructions of Hypertext Markup Language (HTML, XHTML). A webpage may incorporate elements from other websites with suitable markup anchors.

Webpages are accessed and transported with the Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP), which may optionally employ encryption (HTTP Secure, HTTPS) to provide security and privacy for the user of the webpage content. The user's application, often a web browser, renders the page content according to its HTML markup instructions onto a display terminal.

Infographics: Programming Language Evolution

In the summer of 1988 after graduation from high school I enrolled myself in a local technology school here. This is for preparing myself for my college education at that time, because I was thinking of getting a degree called Computer Science but end up taking Computer Engineering. Since i have nothing else to do that summer. In this time i have my first encountered with a programming language called COBOL or Common Business Oriented Language.

From then on when I was in college I also learned BASIC programming, D BASE and FOX BASE programming language and the last is Assembly Language. I learned HTML at worked, we have pascal and turbo c then but i missed the teacher who taught them. Anyway that was way back then now we have a lot to learn in terms of programming languages. Below is a visual guide on the evolution of programming languages.

Two Features to Look for When Buying Performance Testing Software

Over 700 million people use the Internet to conduct online business, from buying hand soap to baby diapers, there is a person looking to buy almost anything available online. With so much growth for online businesses, more and more e-commerce sites are looking for software to help handle the loads of traffic being directed their way. Some go the traditional route and purchase performance software through large computer companies, while others go online to see what they can find. Making a decision on software can mean the difference between losing hundreds of customers and making thousands of dollars.

Demo Me

You understand what your company needs are better than anyone else. You also recognize the type of software needed to ensure that your e-commerce business stays operational during large spikes in traffic. Most companies selling performance testing tools will go over their features, show you a few videos as to how the software works and give you data sheets about what makes their product so great. However, few companies actually let you download a free version of the software to use as a demo.

Showing is better than telling, and any company that can show you why its products are superior rather than tell you is a sure winner. When a company shows you what its software can do, you can understand the type of tests it can perform, the type of problems it can solve, and how quickly the software can help you resolve issues. Most companies selling website load testing software will not let you demo their software, but those that do, can help you grade the product before you invest.

Versatility in Software

Of course, perhaps the biggest determining factor for why you end up buying a product from Company A instead of Company B will come down to the software’s usage. Testing tools were all created differently, from what it can examine to where it can run tests from to solve a problem. Some websites sell a one-dimensional website load testing tool for consumers to complete a specific task, while others sell a program that can handle the needs of a customer in e-commerce, social media, e-learning and entertainment.

You always want a piece of software that can multi-task for you and perform a variety of tests on a scale necessary for your company size. This versatility can change the landscape of your e-commerce business to handle the multiple testing challenges a small, medium and large size company will face on a daily basis, during the holidays or if it grows internationally.

SOASTA provides website load testing tools and testing tools for mobile applications. Performance Tests For Websites are correlated and analyzed in real-time to quickly find and fix problems.

3 Best Programs to Help with Your Web Design

Designing a website is a very difficult thing to do. Once you sit down and have a real idea of what you actually want to accomplish, you need to have a handle on the programs you’re using as well. If you aren’t tech-savvy enough to really go in-depth with your tool-set, you’ll be behind with your design before you even started. The most important thing to do is pick the most appropriate programs so you’re not wasting your time. If you’re interested in programs that will appeal to just about anyone, whether you’re an expert designer or just a beginner, this list will help you out big time.

Adobe Dreamweaver

This program is considered, and has been considered for a long time, as the benchmark by which all web design programs are measured. With an array of tools that appeal to beginners and master designers alike, Dreamweaver is just about the perfect program for anyone looking to design a website themselves. The only downside is that there is a steep learning curve with this program due to all of the tools you need to get a hang of. But once you get comfortable with the interface, you’ll be creating beautiful and dynamic sites like a pro.

Microsoft Expression Web 4

Expression Web is the other major web design program on the market. While not quite as popular as Dreamweaver, it’s still a major component of the web design field. While Dreamweaver is great for just about everything besides certain programming languages, Expression Web picks up the slack in its support of the other major programming languages. Expression Web also has a much cleaner interface when compared to Dreamweaver, which may entice beginners. Even though it has less of a learning curve, it is still a very powerful design tool for designing NY Volkswagen websites, for example.

Adobe Photoshop

1    You’ll need this program to get professional images and layouts on your site. If you’ve ever done CSS (cascading style sheets), Photoshop will definitely help you design great looking designs. If you’re unfamiliar with how this program works, it’ll take a little while to get acclimated with it, but once you do, it’ll be your best friend. Since you’re developing a great site with some of the best tools out there, you might as well finish the look with professional styling and imaging.

Computer 101: How to Put an Add Widget item on Blogger before the Main Heading.

I know a lot of blog have discuss about this item about putting a new add widget on you blog hosted in Blogger. I just want to help out the newbie Blogger who does not have enough understanding about HTML, java script and programming. Reading thru does lines of codes can be very daunting to a newbie Blogger and even to some season Blogger. In this step all the skills that we need is how to read and compare lines. We will just need to modify a few items on the html coding of the blog. But before you proceed make that only the lines shown here are the one that you need to modify only. Do not touch any other part of the code.

First of all log in to your blog-spot account of your blog. Once you are log-in click the DESIGN then click on the EDIT HTML option then look for the EXPAND WIDGETS TEMPLATE then once located put a check mark on the small box besides it. Then to quicken the search ob the HTML code of your blog press Ctrl + F so that a search box will appear at the bottom of your browser. Then on the inside of your browser type the first few lines of this code:

                  <b:section class='header' id='header' maxwidgets='1' showaddelement='no'>

The search item will be quickly displayed, look for the same code as above. Okay once you located this line of code focus your attention on two key items. First on the maxwidget=1 we are going to change the current value of this instead of 1 please change it to 2 then for the next item the showaddelement='no' the current value is set to no please change it to yes. After modifying the value of this two item your code should look like this:

<b:section class='header' id='header' maxwidgets='2' showaddelement='yes'>

After modifying we need to save your template just click on the SAVE TEMPLATE button located just below to editor box. Wait for the confirmation that your modification has been save before returning to the PAGE ELEMENTS page of the dashboard. The page elements you will notice that a new add widget item has appeared. This new item can be very useful especially if you have a advertising code that you need to insert on your blog but could not do so because you have no html or java script programming skills.
