The Blackberry Z10 has finally made its arrival, marching in loud and proud with the Blackberry 10 operating system accompanying it. The company hopes that this unit will be the one that will help rejuvenate sales to the company. The Z10 is a worthy competitor against other smart phones like the iPhone 5 and the Galaxy S3, but the truth is, the smart phone should be placed in the same category as the Nokia Lumia 920. This Windows 8 smart phone is quickly rising in the ranks toward smart phone superiority, and the Z10 could be the closest thing the 920 has to a contender. How do these two phones compare when it comes to specification?

Is the Smartphone the new Camera?
Listen
Well, as any of you with even the slightest interest in photography should know the point and shoot market is dying. The compact camera is singing its last song, its light, which once burned bright, is being slowly but surely extinguished. The reasons are many; poorer images, uncompromising zoom, slow shutter speed and most notably, an increasing competition with smart phones.

Basic Features of the Smartphones
The Operating System
Importance of the Memory
-->
The Smartphone devices are popular among the cell phone users all over the world. The question is: what is a Smartphone, and how it is different from the traditional cell phones? A Smartphone device is actually a cell phone which has various, additional features. A Smartphone is built on an operating system which has the ability to perform advanced computing functions and Internet connectivity. The Smartphone was introduced to the concept of combining the functions of the cell phone and a personal digital assistant. The recent models of Smartphones go beyond that and have some additional features which are neither available in the traditional cell phones or in the personal digital assistants such as built-in media players, cameras, and GPS navigation.
Basic Features of the Smartphones
The recent models of Smartphones also include a touch screen feature, a high-resolution, built-in camera, various browsers that also display the standard Websites besides opening the mobile versions of the Websites. With the compatibility for WiFi and mobile broadband, the connectivity of the latest Smartphones is also included in some of the brands of Smartphones. There are various operating systems used in the different brands of these Smartphone devices. Some of the common operating systems are: Apple’s iOS, Android from Google, Symbian from Nokia, BlackBerry from RIM, Windows from Microsoft, Bada from Samsung, and WebOS from HP. The Smartphone market becomes an extremely attractive place for the developers as the interest of people is increasing in these devices.
The Operating System
One of the main features of the Smartphones is the “apps” which is the shortened form of “applications.” These apps are actually a small software that is developed to perform certain tasks such as playing popular games and other professional tasks. The popularity of Smartphone apps is increasing as people want to download an app for any reason such as getting the information of the local weather, or knowing the prices of your favorite stocks. Some of the recent models of Smartphones have the ability to connect to the Internet via 3G which is a high-speed, Internet connectivity service. Keeping in mind the dependence on the Internet is increasing, the developers of Smartphones are also providing different options on Smartphones that are based on the Internet.
Importance of the Memory
Some of these Smartphones have the option of a memory card slot to increase the memory of your device. Some other Smartphones, such as the iPhone from Apple, has a massive, internal memory so you can store movies, music, and large files without buying a memory card. Some of the Smartphones have the ability to support the push email feature which enables the users to send and receive emails in real time. Some other Smartphone devices provide you the facility to sync various email accounts in one service. Choosing your Smartphone is extremely important as you need to be sure which brand suits you best. The needs of every person are different when they go to buy a Smartphone device; therefore, you need to know why you want to get the Smartphone.

Microsoft Rumored to Launch 'Windows Phone 7.8'
Follow @ryderskull88
Rumors break down any barriers and sometimes imagination spreads like wild fire. Rumors usually surround Apple products. This time around, Microsoft has attracted the attention and its new product Windows Phone 7.8 has been targeted to be rumored. Toni Tech Blog has stated that Microsoft is all set to release its new mobile operating system, Windows Phone 7.8. Microsoft had earlier stated that its upcoming product will be released by the beginning of 2013. This little rumor of the product being launched on Wednesday has been spotted in a number of sites including WMPower User and Mashable.
The rumor must have started from a tip that was found in the Microsoft centered blog. The blog spoke about the latest arrival of new software for Smartphones like Lumia 900 and 510 which belong to Nokia. WMPower User is not able to verify the tip or get a clear understanding of it, because Nokia and Microsoft have been teasing about Windows Phone 7.8. They have been talking about it for months and so, coming to a conclusion with a single line is impossible.
Microsoft comes up with special operating systems for mobiles and PCs frequently. The much expected operating system, Windows Phone 8 was released by the end of October with great pomp. Windows Phone 8 from Microsoft is the first platform which has the capability to share building blocks. Many are still confused over Windows 8 OS and Windows Phone 8 OS. Both the operating systems share common features starting from the live-tile interface which is the signature style of Windows 8.
Meanwhile, WPCentral has stated that it landed upon some promotional materials in Finnish which reveals that there will be a new update following the 7.8 update. It has also mentioned that the materials threw some light on a few new features of 7.8. The 7.8 phone OS is expected to have a unique start screen and plenty of color themes which can be chosen based on convenience.
It is expected to have a lock screen based on Bing and a Wi-Fi connection that can be kept alive even when the Nokia devices are in suspend mode. Every individual tile can be moved around and placed at your convenience. You have the liberty to arrange the screen in such a way that all your apps are in order. For example: All business apps can be placed on top of the screen and all the personal apps at the bottom of the screen. It is also expected to carry the ability to receive and send files using the “Bluetooth File Transfer” which is also a rumor.
Supposedly, CNET is expected to contact Microsoft and learn more about the rumors surrounding it. However, TechCrunch says that a Microsoft spokesman told that complete details about Windows Phone 7.8 will be disclosed by the company in the future.
This news might be a little comforting to the WP7 OS phone owners because Microsoft announced that the new WP8 OS cannot be upgraded by customers who are using the old version. Customers of Nokia Lumia 710 and 900 were disappointed over this announcement. However, back in June when Windows Phone 8 made its official debut, Microsoft and Nokia promised that a new OS carrying the similar features will be sported to an updated version of WP7. This was specifically designed for the WP7 customers. So, this new Windows Phone 7.8 version can be upgraded by Windows Phone 7 customers. Until Microsoft opens up, the rumor is going to be up in the air. I guess the company is going to let the rumors stay in the air a little longer. What do you think?

Electronic Exclusivity: Apps for the Rich and Famous
Follow @ryderskull88
They say money can’t buy happiness. However, where phones are concerned it can certainly buy you an easier life. For years wealthy people have indulged in fast cars, meals out and extravagant holidays. Now with the advent of social media, the evolution of the internet, and phone apps becoming more and more popular, people are putting their money where the technology is.
Vertu, the luxury mobile phone handset, is leading the way with many exclusive offers and services sent straight to your Vertu mobile phone. Albeit, you do have to fork out at least £3,500 rising to £55,000 for the privileges (you need to own a handset) but many of the rich will do so if it allows them to become members of private clubs, gain entry to supposedly full events and receive expert assistance at the touch of a button.

As the financially privileged are often used to getting what they want, when they want it, Vertu’s concierge is available 24 hours a day to meet the needs of their customers.

But it’s not only phone manufacturers who are getting in on the act, however, with websites fast cottoning on to the vastly under serviced demographic which is the filthy rich. Invitation only social networking site ‘Total Prestige’ is one of the first and offers users a LinkedIn/Facebook type experience but with total exclusivity. There is a very hefty joining fee (if you get that far), but that unleashes the world of super duper business, brushing cyber shoulders with the fat cats and having the option to sell your wares to people who can afford anything they want.
There is a VIP section, (as with any posh club, online or otherwise) and this requires a further amount to be shelled out each year - $500 a year for club members and $900 a year for non-members). In this section, users can promote their products and write for the online magazine, therefore targeting their preferred market. This site appears to be veering towards LinkedIn more than a Facebook template with the emphasis on business, networking and self-promotion rather than catching up with old friends.

There are several variations of Total Prestige including Affluence.org and Whytegold.com, all which require an invite and large annual subscription fee. What is obvious is that these sites are targeting affluent individuals who have come to a point where they do not want to mix with ‘normal’ everyday people. Indeed, they are happy to pay for the privilege which gives them that step up onto the rung above the rest of us.
With the influx of dating sites over the last few years there was sure to be one developed for the elite and in stepped Sugardaddy.com, an online meeting place for millionaires. However, when we say millionaires we mean the men, as it is them who pay the $24.99 subscription fee every month. The ladies join for free, can chat with wealthy men and, if they impress them, can be whisked away on expensive dates. Critics have slammed the site, and others have followed suite, by saying it is tantamount to an online platform for men to pick up prostitutes.

Other sites popular with successful singletons are millionaire dating sites which match men and women on the same financial page. These are a completely different concept to Sugardaddy.com and both parties pay a monthly membership fee in the hope of finding their match.
While the Internet is booming in the current financial climate due to bargains and cheaper channels for buying and selling, there is also a large online market for individuals who are successful and financially secure. Until recently this was a vastly under populated niche, however now technology companies are stepping up to the plate and developing products and services especially for them, possibly in the hope they can become as rich as their customers.
There are no huge membership fees at Ladbrokes Bingo; you can even play for free!

Where to Get a Phone?
Once you've decided on your preferred phone model, you can choose to sign up for a contract with a network provider (in which case the cost of the phone will usually be subsidized or waived completely) or buy the phone outright and use a pay-as-you-go SIM. It's worth considering how much you use your current phone and whether you really need to be tied in to an often expensive and lengthy (12-, 18- or 24-month) contract, or if you'd like the relative freedom of pay-and-go.
Signing up for a Contract
When choosing a phone contract there are some obvious factors to consider: What's the monthly cost? How many call minutes do you get? How many free texts? What's your monthly data allowance? Are there any extras? Deciding which deal to go for depends on how you're likely to use your phone: are you more of a talker or a texter? If you know you're going to be mainly on the Internet, or intend to make extensive use of your new phone's navigation abilities and other web services, then it's worth shopping around for the best 3G data deal. Unlimited data deals, once the norm, have become increasingly rare.
The major network carriers have branches in most major towns and cities, so you can easily walk in and pick up a phone on the spot. There are also one-stop shops like the Carphone Warehouse and Phones4U in the UK, and Walmart in the US, where you can peruse offers from various carriers in one place and pick the one that suits you best.
In the UK:
Carphone Warehouse carphonewarehouse.com
Phones4u phones4u.co.uk
In the US:
Walmart walmart.com
Best Buy bestbuy.com
It's also well worth shopping online. Apart from the carriers' own websites, there are some phone comparison sites that resell the same package deals you'd get in-store but with substantial discounts or cashback incentives that could cut the cost of running your phone by up to a third over the life of the contract.
Authorized online agents are paid commissions by carriers to bring in new customers and offer a simplified credit application process and often give discounted phone prices.
In the US:
Point point.com
Let's Talk letstalk.com
Al Wireless al wireless.com
In the UK:
The Phone Network thephonenetwork.co.uk
Mobiles UK mobiles.co.uk
One Stop Phone Shop onestopphoneshop.co.uk
If you're in the US and want to get out of your existing contract it may be possible to sell on the remaining months of your deal through one of several online reseller programs:
Cell Trade USA celltradeusa.com
Cell Swapper cellswapper com
Or, in the UK:
Cell Swapper uk.cellswapper.com
Buying without a contract
If you want to skip taking out a long-term phone contract and use a pay-as-you-go service or rolling monthly contract, it pays to shop around for the best price on a new handset. Try a price-comparison agent such as, in the US:
Google— Product Search google.com/products
PriceWatch pricewatch.com
In the UK, price-comparison agents include:
Kelkoo kelkoo.co.uk

Infographics: Smartphone and APP Growth Soars
A smartphone is a mobile phone built on a mobile computing platform, with more advanced computing ability and connectivity than a feature phone. The first smartphones were devices that mainly combined the functions of a personal digital assistant (PDA) and a mobile phone or camera phone. Today's models also serve to combine the functions of portable media players, low-end compact digital cameras, pocket video cameras, and GPS navigation units. Modern smartphones typically also include high-resolution touchscreens, web browsers that can access and properly display standard web pages rather than just mobile-optimized sites, and high-speed data access via Wi-Fi and mobile broadband.
The most common mobile operating systems (OS) used by modern smartphones include Apple's iOS, Google's Android, Microsoft's Windows Phone, Nokia's Symbian, RIM's BlackBerry OS, and embedded Linux distributions such as Maemo and MeeGo. Such operating systems can be installed on many different phone models, and typically each device can receive multiple OS software updates over its lifetime.
Apps is a software that is use for different application. The infographics below shows how the smartphone and Apps growth has been this several years.

Three of the Most Influential Gadgets of All Time Part 2
The next gadget is really very revolutionary gadgets where its impact in our day to day activity is still being felt today and will continue for next generation to come. It all started with the need of mankind getting tired of writing everything he knows so he imagine and design gadgets that would make writing so much easier. Thus the type writer was born out of the imagination and perseverance of the human spirit to make doing things a lot easier. From then on we have seen the type writer’s development and evolution from its humble beginning. But still information had to be type immediately and printed immediately with the type writer. Man needed something that would make editing document very easy and because editing on a type writer was very tasking, we needed to find a way on how to make editing documents very easy before we need to print the final copy of the documents.
Then came the era of small electronic system, suddenly everything that was vacuum tubes turn very small and we could make electronic system on a very small package. This ushered in the new era of a gadget that would make a very deep impact in our daily lives. Before only large corporation or institution could only use these gadgets because of their size. The early computer like the ENIAC where it size is comparable to a small house. Also it would take several people to operate them. Then an idea was born that would make these computer become house hold name and necessity. They make them small and called it Personal Computer and put all software that would make it very useful indeed. Since then the Personal computer has been developed together with all its application, it has become a must have in every places that has electricity on it a must have.
Today we could do almost anything to a computer except to take bath or wash our dirty laundry. I mean the computer can function as a type writer while making editing very easy. We could listen to it as we do in radio or watch movie or television on it like a television set. With the help of the internet we use the computer to do only transaction from bank or shop online or locate places all around the world best of all we could use it to communicate with our friends and family from anywhere on planet earth. With the advent of different social networking sites like Facebook.com. The importance and need for computer has never been more defined. With all these things coming to us we thought it would be enough for our needs. I mean we have the computer and its sister the laptop for mobile computing needs.
The computer was excellent but we need to add an additional capability on it to make it the best gadget of all time. I mention we made the computer small but we need it to make smaller then we need to put another gadget into it where this gadget is also a very important to us. We use these gadgets in our daily activities to communicate with each other where ever we are on this planet. That gadget is the telephone and its cord less or wireless cousin the mobile phone. By combining these two gadgets the mobile phone and the laptop we now have a champion gadget called the Smartphone. Pretty nit gadgets, by integrating the telephone into the computer we now have an almost complete gadgets. The explosion of Smartphone in our time is very evident first there was Nokia, then came Apple which really redefined how a Smartphone should look and feel like, then a Korean company known for electronics products gave us the another Smartphone called Samsung Galaxy SII which could compete with the Apple I phone 4 series and many other manufacturer have their own version of the Smartphone.
The Smartphone could almost do it all except using it as a kitchen sink. By combining all the features of previous gadgets within it we have created a gadget that is more than the sum of its parts. Hmm I wonder where I heard that part. How about you what is your best gadgets of all times?

HTC Desire S is a perfect lady smartphone
Over the years, I was always a Nokia person and a satisfied customer. Nokia always made nice, elegant phones for their female customers and it is a very well known fact. When I finally admitted to myself that Nokia Symbian isn’t fulfilling my need for an interesting mobile phone anymore, I decided to go for a touch screen HTC smartphone.
Being a modern woman who likes gadgets and wants and needs her mobile phone for more than just calling and texting, the search for a seemingly ‘perfect’ smartphone was more than just pure comparing of specifications. So I wanted to somewhat point out the two most important things that a woman cares about when choosing the best smartphone for herself.
First of all, it’s the size. Brand new smartphones are getting bigger and bigger and it seems that developers forget about our small hands. The flaws of competitive market – so fast you forget about the true customer ‘care’. Yes, I do want a HD touch screen smartphone that can perform everything that a smartphone can and should but I don’t want a shovel in my hand. Not to mention the fear of taking it out of a handbag in a crowded public transport for example.
Having a very limited offer in Serbian telecommunications companies, I narrowed it down to three choices and after weeks of thorough research I have finally settled for HTC Desire S. I have been using it actively for three months now and I must say I am more than satisfied. I am actually surprised how satisfied I am because I was always apprehensive towards touch screen phones. I used to be a QWERTY user and even after three months, I’m still getting used to this sensitive keyboard. It takes time.
The size and weight are just right. Desire S is a 3.7-inch touch screen which is perfect because it has a high-quality display with beautiful colors while fitting perfectly in your hand. Everything above that size would be too much for your hand – you will even struggle with this one before you get used to it. Needless to say, it is very functional, fast and supports pretty much every Android application. There is one big downsize however – the lack of ‘exterior’ case colors.
I was somewhat upset when I learned that it is sold only in gray or black. I really wanted a white one, like you could get its predecessor HTC Desire. I care about the function but I also care about the ‘looks’. Why can’t we just have both, is it that hard? Fortunately, there are numerous online mobile shops where you can browse for cases and other accessories in order to fancy it up a bit. It is truly a great smartphone and it is such a shame they didn’t make a white version. I have to say that for me, iPhone will always be the most beautiful phone when it comes to design but Desire S truly is perfect when you take all of the pros, cons, specs and your financial possibilities into consideration.

Samsung overtakes Apple as the world’s biggest shipper of smartphones
This is a guest post from Jon Smith | EMEA E-Marketing Specialist | Insight UK
Samsung overtook Apple to become the world's biggest shipper of smartphones between July and September. Samsung have always been one of Apple’s strongest competitors in the smartphone market constantly designing innovative new phones and now tablets.
Statistics showed that Samsung shipped a whopping 27.8 million smartphones in the three-month period, compared with 17.1 million from Apple and 16.8 million from Nokia.
Nokia was the top handset shipper with 27.3% in market share, followed by Samsung with 22.6% and LG with 5.4%. Could this be a real shift in power for Apple, after years of dominance in the smartphone market, and let’s face it, it’s a market they created, Apple appear to be slipping down the popularity list.
Samsung’s success has been driven by its adoption of Google’s Android software for both smartphones and tablets; it has also announced a new model, called the Galaxy Nexus, which it has built in direct collaboration with Google. Although it is one of Apple's largest suppliers of components, the two are also locked in an increasingly bitter legal battle over mobile phone patents.
According to Strategy Analytics, “Samsung’s rise has been driven by a blend of elegant hardware designs, popular Android services, memorable sub-brands and extensive global distribution. Samsung has demonstrated that it is possible, at least in the short term, to differentiate and grow by using the Android ecosystem.”
Overall, smartphones make up 44 per cent of the global mobile market, shipping 117 million units last quarter. Nokia remains the world’s largest phone maker overall, but their market share fell five percentage points to 27.3%, compared to Samsung with 22.6 per cent. ZTE is in fourth place, with Apple in fifth place overall.
The debate still rages about which smartphones are the best, but ultimately it come down to; what you are going to use it for, personal preference and price.

The Top Five Mobile Phones for Entertainment
This article is a guest post from mobiledeals of http://www.best-mobile-contracts.co.uk/.
Phones have come a long way since the ubiquitous Nokia 3310 (which in all fairness is still a jolly good phone and my mother rues the day I changed hers to a Nokia N79 and keeps on trying to steal my father’s 6210 despite previously dismissing it as too new-fangled) and now must be a symbiosis of worldwide communication, font of all knowledge and information, high power multimedia system and a stylish fashion accessory.
Our phone priorities are all different, my father is consistently smug about his superior signal despite not being able to watch dancing dogs and talking cats on YouTube, but if you want your mobilephone deals for entertainment purposes, the below list provides details of the best phones on the market.
Sony Ericsson Xperia Play
For those whose idea of entertainment is gaming, then look no further than the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play. Launched in spring 2011 and running on the Android Platform, this highly functional smartphone, the Xperia Play is the first mobile smartphone developed under the PlayStation brand making a true hybrid between smartphone and handheld gaming device.
The superior processing power of the Gingerbread Android Platform enables the phone to play games of PSP quality and Sony Ericsson have developed the PS Suite to deliver high quality gaming from the likes of notable developers Namco and Electronic Arts. The phone comes complete with a joy pad which looks almost identical to that of the PSP, which whilst making the phone a little bulkier does make it look and feel like the real thing.
Apple iPhone 4S
The media giant which is Apple was always going to create massive media hype about this phone, but with an eye on the entertainment market it could well be that the hype is justified. What makes the Apple iPhone 4S deals stand out from its predecessor and of other smartphones and the market is not that missing Flash but the improved camera that now includes 1080p video capture and playback. The screen resolution of the iPhone 4 makes this a superior smartphone for your entertainment purposes, even if the screen is a little bit smaller than some of its rivals.
Whilst Android may be catching up; there are still more entertainment apps available running on the iOS. With Game Center you can partake in social games with your friends or strangers, and the new Siri voice control system could potentially open up a whole new world of smartphone gaming.
BlackBerry Torch 9860
BlackBerry has long been the preserve of the business man and up until recently has maintained its unique PDA-meets-phone stance in the market. However in August 2011, with the launch of BlackBerry OS7, RIM has finally produced a handset that successfully does away with the QWERTY. The BlackBerry Torch 9860 is the best touchscreen handset ever produced by RIM and makes the company ready to take on its entertainment smartphone rivals.
Despite not coming in a traditional BlackBerry form the Torch 9860 still has all of the best features that you would expect from a BlackBerry phone such as BlackBerry Messenger and BlackBerry App World.
HTC Sensation 4G
HTC has long been a silent winner in the current battle of the smartphones and the HTC Desire was a valiant rival to the much hyped iPhone 4. Now we have the HTC Sensation 4G and the battle has started to get hotter. The first thing you notice about the HTC Sensation 4G is the speed at which it works; applications loaded in milliseconds, geo location located in seconds and one of the fastest cameras found on a smartphone. All this displayed on a pretty impressive 4.3 inch qHD display which doesn’t compromise its compact frame.
The larger screen and superior processing power make the Sensation one of the best Android phones for entertainment, and particularly great for watching videos with access to the HTC Watch streaming video service.
Nokia N9
The trusty Nokia, stuck up a mountain will have reception where other smartphones fail, but how do Nokia shape up in the entertainment smartphone arena? Well, pretty well as it happens with the Nokia N9. The phone runs on the new venture MeeGo operating system which promises superior processing power but may not have good future support with Nokia's decision to move to Windows Phone 7.
What does set the Nokia N9 against its rivals in the entertainment is the very impressive camera, featuring a dual-LED, eight mega pixels, and the trustworthy Carl Zeiss lens. Whether this makes Nokia market leaders once again remains to be seen.

Cellphone to SmartPhone to Computer
Technology today compare to technology a few decades ago has become more integrated in our daily life. I said this because as i observe may own progress and my countries progress. One example of how technology evolve was the CELLPHONE. When i was just starting out after graduation the cellphone was just coming into our lives back then, they were still bulky and big, then came the wireless type they become small and more user friendly but still they are not in a level as it was today compare back then.
Today smart phone can be applied to almost anything in our daily activity, such as money transfer, online payment, ticket, web surfing, watch video streaming, tracking device and etc. It also acts a as a person locator, back then a person can go through his daily activity without these devices. It is still for luxury. But now only a decade has past and the cellphone has evolve into something very-very handy. almost every people in every country has one type or another, depending on the services and models available for that region.
Also almost all mobile devices has multiple feature in them, they are not just for texting or calling, but has evolve into a lot more very useful application for business, finance, personal health, hobby, and a lot of other interest. The price has also gone down from 5 to 10 years ago where it used to cost a lot for a simple cellphone. While now a days, one can buy prepaid phone kit from almost any location in every country.
Also the phone design has come a long way from the early bulky type to the cover change, the antenna was place on the inside, using a single key to navigate the entire menu to playing music and watching video with bigger memory capacity, games has also evolve from black and white to full colored feature games type just like what is found on a PC and also using different type connectivity. From GSM, GPRS to 3G.
The latest in cellphone technology innovation is the touch screen navigation, that is using your finger to select menu, feature and function. The use if button to navigate your phone is slowly being put away step by step, as new model comes from different manufacturer, one trying to outdo each other to have a piece of the pie of the smart phone market which has grown a lot in this past years.
It has become an essential part of everyday activity. It helps a lot of people to know that they are connected to there family and friends on a 24 hours basis.
