Serial Numbers And Bar Codes On USB Flash Drives

Typically, when it comes to USB flash drives, companies imprint or engraves them for promotional purposes, to endorse their business and increase their customers’ awareness or loyalty or even both. Also more and more companies use the preloaded digital data services as it is a convenient and cost friendly method to present their new products, services, prices or other promotional materials. This method of promoting is not new, but it still grows in popularity, as millions of branded USB flash drives are used as giveaways every year. Also, memory drives have become the default way to store, save or carry digital data for most of the market segments, from education or work to the regular home use. But all this popularity has a cost. It creates new opportunities, but it also creates new challenges.

How Does The Nokia Lumia 920 Measure Up To The Blackberry Z10?

The Blackberry Z10 has finally made its arrival, marching in loud and proud with the Blackberry 10 operating system accompanying it. The company hopes that this unit will be the one that will help rejuvenate sales to the company. The Z10 is a worthy competitor against other smart phones like the iPhone 5 and the Galaxy S3, but the truth is, the smart phone should be placed in the same category as the Nokia Lumia 920. This Windows 8 smart phone is quickly rising in the ranks toward smart phone superiority, and the Z10 could be the closest thing the 920 has to a contender. How do these two phones compare when it comes to specification?

Tech History - Evolutionary Algorithms

tech
For the past few thousand years, engineers assumed that the best way to move water round a right angle was as you’d probably expect – just round a bend in the shape of a quarter of a circle. It makes sense; the water pressure is maintained and you’d expect it to flow perfectly round. The engineers did well. They were intuitive, and used the best configuration they knew of. When the first piped water flowed round the fist-ever bend in the first-ever pipe and nothing awful happened, I doubt anyone breathed a sigh of relief. It makes perfect sense it would flow around, and it did, and that’s the way the system stayed until very recently.

Razer Shows Off 'Edge' Windows 8 Gaming Tablet

Razer has announced the launch of Razer Edge gaming tablet at the CES in Las Vegas. At the heart of Razer Edge Tablet is the 10.1 inch display making it one of the most comfortable for playing games. Edge runs on Windows 8. It has the feeling of a laptop plus it has the ability to play any games, even those made for laptops, personal computers and exclusive gaming consoles. Razer Edge is powered an Intel Core processor and the graphics are by Nvidia. The processor is i5 and has 4GB of RAM to give all the power required for a tablet. Included is also a 64 GB solid drive. There is also another instance of the Razer running on Core i7 CPU and RAM capacity of 128 GB which can be upgraded to 256 GB SD.

Though powered by impressive hardware, you will need to have lots of add-ons to get a rich experience. The Pro version can be bought with the Gamepad controller package with analog sticks and feed back for vibration. However, the cost is a little on the higher side. You can also add peripherals like for example a keyboard and what appears to be like an illuminated key. In addition there are 3 USB ports and a HDMI port for connecting the device to High Definition television. The original battery fitted to Razer Edge has a meager life time and requires frequent charging. Battery life can go down further if you attach a keyboard or other peripheral devices. If you want extra battery life, then the only option is to buy some additional equipment.

It may be remembered that Razer Edge was originally introduced as Project Fiona and it is only now that it has been renamed. The Edge is typically a low to midrange device. In form factor, the Edge is at least two times as thick as the iPad but weighs proportionately lesser for its size. So users get a feel that it is a light device. Much though has gone into the designing of the Edge and that can be gauged from the fact a lot of time has been spent on understanding user needs. What you may not like about the design is that the device cannot be opened for making upgrades. In simple terms it means you get stuck to specifications for the lifetime of the device.

One of the major selling points in favor of the Edge is not focused on gaming alone. In fact, it has functionalities that help to be used as computing device. So you just be able to use it for accessing email and browsing the internet as well. Performance wise too, the Razer Edge has been found to be satisfactory. Most user who tried the device think that that the underside of the device heats up when used for playing high end games, though none said it was unbearable.

There are some downsides to the Edge besides the high price and the full complement of additional equipment it needs for gaming. When the device is on your lap you sure will find it comfortable, but when you have to handle it can be troublesome with the other peripheral device, and that was very much evident at the CES. The Edge can also be connected through the Bluetooth, giving it wireless abilities. On the whole, however it is more or less a decent solution for those who are looking for a device for gaming as well as for computing. Since the gadget provides enough connectivity ports, those who have other attachable devices with them already can choose the Edge and save substantially.

5 Reasons You'll Want to Upgrade to Windows 8

Microsoft Windows keeps on coming out with new versions, and in the past they've been hit and miss. Sometimes it's great to upgrade, while other times it's best to simply buckle down and hold tight until a better version of Windows comes down the pike. In the case of Windows 8, it's okay to upgrade. In fact, the following are some great reasons to do so sooner instead of later.

Live Tiles

The ability to go beyond icons and simply touch tiles to access what you want can dramatically speed up the process of finding what you want. With Windows 8, you won't have as much emphasis on finding files as on simply touching the appropriate tile for whatever you want.

Storing the Operating System Anywhere

Windows 8 isn't just for desktops and laptops. It isn't even just for desktops, laptops and tablets. You can even store the entire, fully functional operating system on a thumb drive. Some rumors even suggest that in time, a Windows 8 phone may even be realized. This level of portability and interactivity would be revolutionary for a Microsoft product, and would really put them back in the race with other operating systems.

The Gaze Interface

With a specialized webcam, you will literally be able to look at the screen, blink your eyes and click on an icon to open it. While it might take some getting used to, the Gaze interface has been developed in tandem with Windows 8 to make the integration seamless.

Dual Interface Options

You can either go with the classic Windows user interface or the new Metro UI. Either way will work with Windows 8, and you can try out both without sacrificing your ability to run your more useful programs.

Windows Store

These days, having an online store chock full of apps isn't optional. Windows has jumped on-board with both feet, launching its Windows Store. Windows 8 will be totally compatible with the Store, allowing you to pick up all kinds of apps at your leisure and install them from anywhere.

Upgrading to Windows 8 is going to be a huge change for you. But there's a word for people who cringe away from change: dinosaurs. Embrace what's new and let it make your life better, faster and more efficient. Many of today's pet peeves will smooth out once you get used to something different, and the rest will be great from the first day onward.

Can a Windows 8 task manager help you upgrade your computer?

Windows 8 task manager can be considered as one of the revamped aspect of Microsoft’s latest desktop operating system. The new task manager echoes the design simplicity that Microsoft has earlier showed with the new copy file dialog box. It helps the users to close their every day processes and applications just in one click. The new development in the technology will help you optimize your CPU easily. According to Microsoft, the development of this new task manager will be equally appealing to the tech and the non-tech users as it consists of the same good features and includes some that should have been implemented since XP.
Usage of end task button:

In windows 8 when you’ll open the task manager you’ll find a redesigned window that will display only opened applications and two buttons, more details and end task. You can close each of the applications with the help of the end task button. Hence, the visual style has made a replacement to the chaotic option given in windows 7 that can only help the advanced users. Now you don’t have to wander through a multitude of buttons and can easily use the task manager in windows 8. Though the ‘end task’ button helps you to kill the process and shuts down your program in no time it won’t warn you to save your work before you shut something down.

Usage of more details button:

With the help of the ‘more details’ button you’ll be able to switch to the Advanced task manager’s panel where you’ll find a screen almost same as windows 7. Here, the applications that were earlier seen above will be displayed at the top of the screen. If you’re a power user, then with the help of the more details button you can get the information about what is going on in your system. This will open up a more familiar screen where you’ll find all the processes are grouped under different categories such as all background processes, all operating processes and many more. If you click on the left corner of each application, the list will expand and it will drill deeper into what your computer is currently running. This will help you find out how many outlook windows are opened or how many processes are being run in the background by the specific service.

At the right side of the top of the screen Microsoft highlights the percentage of the usage of CPU, memory, disk and the network usage. It also provides you with a heat map with the help of which, you’ll be able to identify which applications are sucking up your system resources. As the names of the processes are appearing in plain language instead of cryptic terms, it has become much friendlier to the users. With these improvements, Microsoft has made the task manager much more simplified to the users who don’t have a high level of detail. Hence, holding the hands of Microsoft, technology has gained advancement to a greater extent.
