How Does Multi Boot System Work

Benefits and working of Multi Boot system – installing multiple OS’s

With plenty of improvements in the technology field, people are finding ways to reduce work pressure and number of hardware. In fact, when you have a system at your table, you will simply run it with a single OS or operating system. But in case of Multi Boot system, you will need more than one operating system on a single computer and it offers you choice to select from the installed systems to move ahead with the configuration.

Multi Boot System

If a computer has got more than one operating system then it is called multi boot system. The computer will provide you the list of installed OS from which you will have to choose the preferred operating system which you want to run. In fact, it will need a boot manager or boot loader which helps you in selecting the correct OS while booting up the system. In case your system has got two operating systems such as Windows XP and Windows 7, it will be known as dual boot system. The list of two operating systems will be shown at the screen on startup and you will have to enter your choice to continue with your choice.

Creating multi boot system

People often go with the option of less complicated booting systems that will require installing operating systems with hiding the logical volumes. In fact, you can mix the Microsoft with the Linux on your system but it is much easier to learn or create more systems, all of Microsoft. The sole purpose of the user should be always to have separate operating systems without interfering with the task and storage options of each other. So, we will require installing multi boot system by offer no intermediate reliance and not installing eth two systems in the same partition. This will allow them to share some common fields and it is not fair for your system. So, the best way to create multi boot system is to install the first one and hiding its partition. Continue with the next OS in the same way while installing OS’s in the primary partitions.

There is another way of creating multi booting system by using the images. First of all, you should create solitary OS and make an image of it. Obtain multiple images of different operating systems and once you achieve this, you can put them all together as per the size and function in the finished partitions. At last, you can plug in the much needed boot manager to link with all of them.

Importance of multi boot system

It is only the multi boot system which has an efficient mode of working to be used in a computer where you can accomplish different tasks. In fact, the multi boot concept provides you the opportunity to have more than one OS on a single system. Many a people today use the multi boot system for testing or investigating a new operating system. It works in a different way which can be sued to transfer all the data & information to the newer one before eliminating the less-needed one.

This is because all type of new WIFI security authentication system has many type of authentication. Just look at the picture below to see what i meant.

Computer 101: Unable to Change the Desktop Picture in Windows 7 Starter

Hello again world, after more than a month of not updating this blog, I have finally found the inspiration to update it. This will be my seventh blog article for 2011 and the first for the month of March. I have no article for the month of February. Hopefully I could follow this one with many more to come. Do you like personalizing your gadget? Like your computer, phones and other devices that allow user level customization without going very technical about it? Today being personal about how your devices appear is very nice. On the internet email provider such as Google allows user to change their Gmail background picture for a more personal appeal. The same is true with their Browser the Google Chrome; you can now change the picture or put a picture that you like on your Chrome browser whenever you create a new tab or windows. This is also true for personal computer such as your desktop and laptop. For me personally one form of customization is changing the picture of the desktop on my computer, laptop or phone. Just like the background picture of my Google Chrome browser below.

Just last year to be exact November 2010, I bought my very first laptop and I also bought a new operating system with it the Microsoft Windows 7 Starter version. The reason I bought this version is because it’s the cheapest version of the current new Windows 7 series from Microsoft. This is version lack the basic featured that comes with all previous windows software that has been release.

For one thing i cannot change the background picture of this version to make my laptop more personal. I’ve search for article regarding this feature on the internet and finds that to change the background picture of the desktop i need to do a lot of tinkering with the registry and some files that is related to the background picture. There is no article that says the background picture can be change via the normal way of just selecting the desired picture and pressing the OK button. I mean the usual way of changing the background picture of my desktop at any point in time that I like to do.

If your just a regular guy who uses the computer and do not care much about the technical stuff the goes on inside. I recommend not touching your registry just to change a background picture. You see the registry is the most sensitive part of any computer meaning you need to know what you are doing very precisely in order not to harm your computer. If you search the internet on how to change the background picture of the desktop in Windows 7 starter. You’ll notice that they all point to editing a little part of the registry and renaming some files associated with background picture or they say use a third party software to have a personalized desktop.

The problem with this is all program uses memory amount and space to work if you have tons of installed programs in your computer then another one will be added in the sharing of the precious memory resources. If your computer has a big amount of memory let say like 4 GIG and up then there is no problem but if your computer has a common 2 Gig amount then adding another program just for changing the desktop picture of your computer is simple not worth it.

I personally would like to make my gadget look very mine and changing the background of my laptop is one way of expressing myself through my very first laptop. In order to change my background picture on the desktop I need to upgrade my Windows 7 Starter to any higher version and my problem will be solved.

Computer 101: Self Back UP for Windows 7 Continued.

It's a good day today for me why, because i am well again although not yet totally but going there. Ive been sick for a whole week. I have not been able to do a lot of things when sick. One of those things is to post the last part of this blog. Now that I'm on my why to recovering my good health status i will be able to do this post. To begin with, in Windows 7 and in previous version of Windows, there is a difference on the back-up process when you get to the actual processing where in you see the process bar actually creating the back-up file for all you files. Now how would it look like. Before we go that look at the picture below. I highlighted  that the back-up destination must be selected in order for the for the next button to be enable. I the NEXT button is not click able after selecting the back-up destination then you should choose to select or supply other back up type for a new destination.

Now press the next button to go to the next step which should look like the picture below for Windows 7 user.In this picture you one will be asked to select a choice of whose going to do the selecting of files for the back-up. Again this brings us back to the earlier post that said prepare your all your files first organize them so that it will be easier locating them if there are all in a single location. In the picture below one have two choices that's either let the system choose the file to back-up or let the user do the selecting. If you are not sure if all your files can be located in a single folder, then choose the first option which is to let the system do file selection process. Okay let say you choose the first option then press the next button to go to the next part.

Notice that the picture below tell us, this is your backup setting, review it first before starting the actual back-up process. Yup folks make sure all your setting is correct. That means the destination folder and the items to be back-up are all there. If all things are in there proper places then just press the button labeled SAVE SETTING and RUN BACKUP to begin the process.

Now after pressing that button the picture below will appear. The picture below will appear, yup the backup process windows and as one can see the backup process has started. Now on this part the time it take to backup the selected items will overall determined the time duration for the backup to be completed. If you have a very very large amount of files to backup and this is your first time to do it then do something else while you wait because it would take quite some time to finish the process. As you can see the green bar is still on the beginning stage as one observe the process it will get longer and longer until it fill the entire space alloted to it. In this stage just sit back and relax or do other things while we wait for the process to finish.

Now lets say that the backup process is finish, then the next picture will appear. The backup process bar is gone and if one observe it right, you'll see that the last backup process has been log or recorded as highlighted by the red rectangle. Okay now that the backup process is done, how do one verify if the back-up files is created or all my files were back-up properly. Well the ways to do that, one simple way is to go to your destination folder and check for the back up files.

Now if one is the backup destination then please look at the picture below. There are two highlighted parts on this. First the location folder and second the backup file itself which is represented the icon below highlighted by the red rectangle. To verify if this is the backup files, the just double click the icon and it will activate to ask three questioned. But if your satisfied that this is the correct one, then your done. you have correctly completed your first back-up process. I quick note this is for Windows 7 user the actual process for the older version of windows will on my next post. Hopefully that tomorrow or the next day.
